This is a great book, I read Sharp Objects and Gone Girl back to back and I fell in love with Gillian Flynn’s writing. I love the way she writes perspectives and timelines. This book had very interesting twists and turns and I hope to read more from her in the future. Solid 4.5 stars if I could use half stars ⭐️

edit: bumping my review down to 3.5 stars after sitting on it and then also watching the movie…nothing was too wow UNTIL part 3 and even though it made everything click, the rest of my reading experience with this book was just *shrug*
i was so sure i was going to give this a two star until the last part of the book. it just made everything click.

So disturbing -- yet incredibly absorbing and riveting. Loved it.

An easy but clever page-turner that I read in less than three weeks after spending eight months on "The Goldfinch." The characters are, if unlikable in many ways, at least consistent, and I admired the author for carrying them to their satisfyingly believable (or believably satisfying?) conclusion.
