Blew through this book in a day. The Powerpoint chapter in particular was shockingly strong. The chapters all tied together very well in my opinion.

A story following various people involved in the music industry in a non linear narrative focusing on themes of identity, mortality, purpose in life. All the pieces sound like something I would like, however it just never really hit for me. Didn’t find the characters particularly interesting or likeable, writings style didn’t really do much for me either.
That being said, I did find the ending to be fairly satisfying and glad i pushed through and finished bumping it from 2 to 3 stars for me. Although this book didn't land for myself, I could definitely see others enjoying it.

i really enjoyed this book. while the change in tone / style / character every chapter caught me off gaurd at first, once i leaned into it i loved seeing how all the stories were interwoven and how each character expressed themselves. got a little weird when egan veered into telling the future, but honestly as a book written 15 years ago, she got the gist of us being consumed by our devices. great stuff.
