Wow. The emotions that I am feeling right now are hard to describe. The style of writing, the plot, the ending…it was “good as the best”.

I read this from a borrowed copy from my library and just bought it for my personal collection because of how much I loved it.

The most tragic thing about this book is that I can’t read it again for a first time and experience the thrill anew. I will be thinking about this book for a long time.

What is it with Dark Academia murder mysteries that make me think that I should improve my college life style? Too little obsession with art, with poetry, too little alcohol and drug abuse and where is the passion and anger to commit murder? Most importantly, no tea drinking with your (kind of) insane teacher?

'But that is how a tragedy like ours or King Lear breaks your heart- by making you believe that the ending might still be happy, until the very last minute.'

Yeah it did break my heart, James broke my heart and I don't think I'll get over this book.

shakespearean theater nerds, it's never that serious.

Idk if it's just a dark academia trope but these bitches get annoying at times. Take this loose interpretation of a conv Oliver had with his father:

Father: we can't pay your last semester of theater school because your sister is very ill.

Oliver: this is why I can't STAND broke bITches.

But that's what makes it all the fun.
