The "May Mothers" is a group of women who all have children born in the month of May.  The group gets together regularly to talk about all things babies- the do's and don'ts of motherhood and how to be the 'perfect' mother.  Then one night, the women go out without the babies- such scandal!- and during the night one baby ends up missing.  Thus our book continues on the hunt to find baby Midas and piece together what the hell happened that night.

Told throughout a handful of characters- it really feels like there's a lot of them in the beginning. (I had a hard time pin pointing all the moms at first, and who their characters were.) The three most prominent women of the book are Francie, New, Collette, who all try in their own ways to get to bottom of this case and find Winnie's baby.

A saw a lot of people comparing this to Liane Moriarty novels, so I was was relatively intrigued (big fan). And, now having finished this I can see where people make that connection.  It's not hard core thriller or, in my opinion, as psychological thriller as it's made out to be either.  It's more like chick-lit thriller?  The books interesting enough to listen to while you're completing mundane tasks throughout the day. I didn't really connect with any of the characters, it was more like I liked the book 'enough'. The last 20% of the book was totally bonkers.  Of course, that's when everything really shifts into focus, but damn if I wasn't confused initially. Even when the book ends- as we're flashing back to events in the past- it just didn't totally mesh up for me.  It's not a bad book, but it was a bit of a miss for me.

1.5 Stars. What a steaming pile of book.

Seriously the worst ending I’ve seen to a mystery in a long while. It was a decent read until halfway through when it started making less and less sense, then that ending was just so hard to read I was dragging and skimming to finish it. Jesus Christ.

In some instances quite funny depiction of mothers in modern world, but weak thriller.

I really enjoyed the characters and how flushed out each storyline was without being too much. I didn’t see the ending coming which is always a bonus for a good thrilled. Great mom read for sure.
