I assure you. I'm a HARSH critic when it comes to books and particularly authors and there way to either make you dive head first into there story or sit in the kiddy pool splashing your feet not really trying to get In. This author C.M. Stunich over exceeded my expectations. They excelled at convening the characters physical traits, likeness, and overall personalities. She dove into each character and truly made you want to not stop reading by enthralling you into the next chapter with wanting to know. "What happens next ??"
I read several hundred books a year, and I'm pleasantly supriaws with this entire series. Especially since I've read another book by the author and wasn't too impressed with it. So I will give credit where credit is due and acknowledge that the author did an extremely impressive job writing this book &entire series.

Surprisingly bad
I’m not normally into bully romances, but I figured why not? Big mistake. Where to begin?
First of all, the author needs to do a little research before writing. Femoral artery? That’s in the leg. The carotid artery is in the neck. High school seniors (especially ones that claim to want to graduate so desperately), would know the location of major arteries. It’s covered in basic biology and anatomy.
Secondly, there’s an excessive amount of repetition in this book. If I had to read “inked” or “ebon” one more time I was going to lose my mind. There was no attempt to describe these guys outside a handful of words that were recycled continuously.
Also, the emotions of this main character was shallow. The reader wasn’t able to feel what this character felt, we were just told “I hate myself” or “I was probably having a PTSD episode” and things along those lines. How are the readers supposed to connect to that? I have PTSD, and there was no detail or explanation covering how horrible a flashback or those feelings are. None. No attempt whatsoever to give this chat any emotional depth.
This book was just a weird underage erotica (oof), with violence thrown throughout, horrible editing, horrible writing, and a lot of self hatred. Will not be reading the sequel. This was bad.

My thoughts on the whole series not just book 1
Every time I remember the fact that I absolutely HATED this series but somehow read all the 5 books makes me think that I'm a masochist.
The language is so vulgar in some parts that I needed my eyes and brain bleached. The word c*nt was the most overused word in this series. Also... I never want to see the words ' swollen and c*nt' in the same sentence ever again in my life.
The bullying was horrible. So so horrible that I couldn't understand how the heroine rationalized it all and ended up falling in love with them. I mean.. she somehow convinces herself that they are good people because while they made her life fucking miserable for...(was it 1 or 2 years? I forget), they are all good guys coz they never raped her.....

Pros: hot characters, ok plot, mc likeable most of the time

This book has everything and steamy sex scenes. Whoa!! It's not like all the rest bully books in the sense that you don't have to go through all of it which I loved. Very refreshing and uniquely done. I'm just so so sad that I have to wait for book #2.
