Every straight person should read this. Nuf said. If I ever get a boyfriend in the future I am going to force him to.

Unless he's a trans guy then it will be optional.

Such a great read, very well researched and some incredibly interesting points. I would only remove the .5 away from 5 on a personal preference that some parts of the book were very academically written which was slightly harder to read, a bit of a lack of asexuality which I think is important as straight culture is so sexually inclined and maybe a rigidity in labels but they are minor points, please recommend this read to everyone (especially straight people)

A fascinating perspective on heterosexuality through a queer lens.

Very informative; a bit too much focus on hetero men when could be a bit more exploration of hetero women

There are good points made in this book, but there’s a dismissing of concepts which aren’t that of queer lesbian feminists, which produces a one-sided argument. I wish there’d be greater diversity of thought in the book, and more introspection and focus on how to address the systemic and institutionalized misogyny of heterosexual relationships in culture. I’d love to see a follow up book on the evolution of and solutions to toxic masculinity as we have it in modern society.
