This was a book on my degree reading list and I have to say there are some really insightful aspects that Peter Brook discusses in this book. I gained a lot of ideas and differed perspectives of different types of theatre. If you are interested in theatre or studying it, I think it is worth a read.

Remarkable book about everything that really matters in theater; it's 40 years old, but almost everything in it is still relevant and meaningful. If you are interested seriously in theater, it's totally essential.
