A sampling of this book as an audio that has been on my tbr for some time, using the Library app. The audio says it comes with a supplemental pdf that I couldn’t seem to access. I decided to pause since this felt like a book better suited to enjoy via pages.

I really enjoyed the plot and the setting of this story. I definitely took my time in reading this book to catch every detail and I loved how deep the story was.

I enjoyed this book, it wasn't perfect but I am glad I picked it up. The writing was beautiful and I absolutely loved Leelo and her inner monologue. This issue was the foreshadowing was too obvious. I knew what was going to happen before it did. I am glad it is standalone because although I enjoyed what I read, I don't think I would continue with it if there were more books. The author lets us know that the forest moved independently and that the lake was poison but never expanded on it. We only got snippets of the forest changing, but nothing more. I wish there was more.

I will be passing this book on to another reader by the way of a little free library.
