Another fine addition to the series! I really enjoy the growth that was displayed in this one. Also .... I was never team Jon so this did delight me more than I could actually say!!!

This series is seriously addictive. I'm looking forward to reading the last in this quartet soon. I loved everything, the romance, the adventure, the magic. Such an interesting tale.

I loved this one too. It was a different dynamic because it is set in the desert away from Tortall but still just as good. She continues to go back and forth between her two loves George and Jon.

I will always feel better coming home to Tamora Pierce's characters. The growth Alanna takes in this book and the adventure of it. The way she takes on learning another culture but still bringing up the outcasts to show others they deserve equal respect. The quote that will stick with me is, "It's easy to change your no into a yes, but it is harder to change a yes into a no."

Also Alanna learning to trust herself and think through her decisions. Her character growth in accepting parts of her that used to scare her was amazing. Every time I read this series I re-establish my hope in my own faith in my own strength.
