LOVING the plot development we're getting here. I remain not a fan of the history dump, but I concede the information is necessary to understand the plot. And I'm delighted by the additional complication of the plot that is introduced in this book
(I'll be honest, I did not think the vampyres were going to come back after the Bandaged Man died, but I love that they have)

I felt like the first book dragged a little at times - it seemed to take a while to get going - but I did not feel that way at all for this one.

I'm also continuing to like the character development that's happening. Nice to see Yorik growing up, he needs it. The new characters we meet are also fantastic. I especially love Teek and Merien.

Very excited to see how this continues!

I loved how this instalment deepened the lore of Wynd’s world and expanded the scope of the story. I also loved the darker colour palette, and the additions of Bastian, Teek, and Merien. I’m looking forward to the third book, and how the various groups and their storylines are going to intersect. My criticism of this comes from not seeing enough of Bastian and Teek; also,
Thorn and Wynd’s kiss came out of NOWHERE. Prior to Thorn becoming unconscious, he was still in love with Yorik
