I loved how this instalment deepened the lore of Wynd’s world and expanded the scope of the story. I also loved the darker colour palette, and the additions of Bastian, Teek, and Merien. I’m looking forward to the third book, and how the various groups and their storylines are going to intersect. My criticism of this comes from not seeing enough of Bastian and Teek; also, Thorn and Wynd’s kiss came out of NOWHERE. Prior to Thorn becoming unconscious, he was still in love with Yorik !
Graphic: Violence, Blood, Death, and Murder
Moderate: Injury/Injury detail, Medical content, and Death of parent
Minor: Abandonment, Police brutality, Gore, War, Domestic abuse, Fire/Fire injury, Confinement, Genocide, and Ableism
Graphic warning for explosion. Moderate warnings for imprisonment, eye trauma, loss of a loved one. Minor warning for capital punishment.
