I read this at the recommendation of a friend, and enjoyed having a little bit of a genre switch-up. This is an easy to digest murder mystery that is reminiscent of the book, Murder on the Orient Express or the movie, Clue. The main character is neurodivergent and the first person narration is interesting to read from her extremely literal perspective. While I mostly enjoyed her character, there were a couple of parts at the end that seemed very out of place for her and made the story a little less enjoyable for me. I also thought a few of the side characters were too stereotypically written. Overall, this is a nice read, but didn’t live up to all of the hype in my opinion.

Not really a fan of making the MC such a stereotype of autism... Like it was so obvious but no one brought up in the book? Frustrating to read. The plot wasn't really there and while I didn't guess the actual murderer in the end, it wasn't written like it would be a big deal

Molly has one of the most intriguing POVs I’ve ever read. I really enjoyed learning how her mind works and trying to piece together this mystery. Great read.

This was an easy, fast mystery read. I enjoyed the second half better than the first when Molly was able to form connections and see some success.

Overall (and especially in the first half of the book), I just felt so sad for Molly. Part of this may be my own experience with autism but I just didn’t love the plot of a neurodivergent individual being taken advantage of by many people around her. I felt sad that she was left alone when her grandmother died.

I liked Molly’s character but in my opinion, it didn’t have the perfectly quirky Eleanor Oliphant vibes that many people reference.

Although I enjoyed the read, I probably won’t be continuing to the second book.

I had a bit of trouble getting through about the first half of this book. It didn’t quite grab me in the way I thought it would from all I’ve heard about this book. I think it was because the narrator’s voice took some time to get used to. But I was hooked by the second half and eager to see how things would work out for Molly.

This book kind of frustrated me in that it felt kind of like they were making light of what literally happens to ASD folks regularly, getting unknowingly coerced/manipulated into crimes because they think the person is their friend. I appreciated the ending and was glad she ended up with JM.

I enjoyed this book, the plot twist at the end really surprised me!  I don't think I've read a book before with the point-of-view of someone who is autistic (or at least heavily implied to be) - which is great representation for Neurodiverse folks. The depiction was well written, although I believe it fell into quite a few stereotypes - which took away from that slightly. Overall a good book :)
