5 stars. Two five stars in one day! Praise the Book Gods! I honestly went into this with no expectations at all. I haven’t read the other five books in the series and I’m not really interested in them but since this is a sapphic Sleeping Beauty retelling with the romance between Malone (Maleficent) and Aurora I had to pick it up.

A Worthy Opponent/ Queen Takes Rose-1⭐️- I wanted to try some books by Katee Roberts so I started the Wicked Villians series, unfortunately I wasn’t interested in most of them so I picked 2 of the books I thought would interest me (Peter Pan/ Alice in Wonderland??) and…no. From the plot. To the dialogue. To the voices of the narrators. Just no. Big cringe.

I feel like not much happened and then the conflict was resolved instantly but overall it could’ve been worse given what is is.

Kera asked if I wanted lesbian smut and I said what the hell sure so shoutout Kera.

Read this for my queer book club and it just wasn't really for me. I thought the smut was pretty hot and well written, but the story itself felt underdeveloped and I found it difficult to get invested in the characters.
