I had expectations going into this books....and they were met and blown out of the water two chapters in.
I had a lot of thoughts on this book, but I'll simply say this: if you liked Stargirl by jerry Spinelli, you'll like this book. I feel like a lot of the motifs were the same.

I somehow forgot how much I loved Neil Gaiman and so this audiobook was an incredible reminder. Full of whimsy, and yet dark and twisted just enough.

This book isn't for kids, but it feels written as if it's for kids, which bothered me for some reason. Idk because I love Coraline, but didn't really care for this.
Pretty lovely, I especially liked the ending. Loved the audiobook. Gaimen’s voice is soothing.

اولین اثری بود که از گیمن خوندم. وقتی تموم شد با خودم می گفتم: «زیبا بود.» همین. همین دو کلمه. چیز بیشتری نمی تونستم بگم. شاهکار نیست ولی زیباست.
در آخر جمله ای که بهم لذت وصف نشدنی ای رو داد می نویسم و میرم؛
دونستن همه چیز کسالت باره

This is a lovely book written by an allegedly awful man. I wish it weren’t so good. It is vividly told, you can picture every description, hear every voice, and feel every emotion. A nice quick read that feels like it could be for all ages, to be honest.

One of the most truly spellbinding books I have ever read, and my favorite of Neil Gaimon's shorter works. I recommend this to everyone I can. The prose is beautiful and the imagery paints such a clear picture that I could see the events of the story in my head as if it were a movie. I honestly wish I could give this book more than five stars cause it deserves it.
