nostalgic, weird, there's a kind of nonchalant darkness.
got a little too edgy for me in some places though.

It is always a thrill ride to read a story written by Neil Gaiman. I love how he weaves various aspects of the story together to create a masterpiece. All in all very good book.

it’s vague af but in an mysterious way, not an annoying way. love the writing style and the story is interesting. overall, it’s good and i’d recommend it
Haunting and beautiful, this book had me completely hooked from start to finish. I went in knowing nothing about it, except that it was short enough to fill the short story slot on my December reading bingo card, but it blew me away. I loved it and will absolutely be reading more of Neil Gaiman’s work soon!

I heard that The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman was The reversed version of Coraline. Instead of the kids going to the other mother monster, the monster comes to the kids. Once I heard that, I knew I had to read The Ocean at the End of the Lane.
Honestly, I really enjoyed this book and read it in basically a day. I’ll admit, I found myself confused a couple of times, but once I got past that, it was a really good book. The more I read, the more I started to understand things. By the end of the book, I was no longer confused.
The Ocean at the End of the Lane is a short and quick fantasy novel. If you’re new to the fantasy genre, I’d recommend reading this book as it introduces you to fantasy without a crazy amount of world building.
All in all, I definitely enjoyed this book and definitely recommend it. With only 171 pages, it’s the perfect length for a quick fantasy adventure.

I do not miss childhood, but I miss the way I took pleasure in small things, even as greater things crumbled. I could not control the world I was in, could not walk away from things or people or moments that hurt, but I took joy in the things that made me happy.
.
Fue un libro raro pero al final me terminó encantando. Also, la pluma de Gaiman me pareció hermosa, y la construcción de la historia y sobre todo del narrador me parecieron MUY buenas. Espero poder leer algo más de él pronto because I want it.
