I didn't love this as much as "Hidden Life of Trees." This seemed a little less well organized and jumped around a bit. But I still learned a lot.

An excellent combination of botany and anthropology. Didn’t expect the shift towards forestry policy and practice in the second half, and while it was valuable knowledge, I would have liked for the anatomy (plant & human) information to continue. I think the author achieves their goal of cultivating greater appreciation for the human body, adaptation, and our relationship with the earth. This feels like a great intro for their first book, as well as continuing to read from the perspective of bipoc authors on this topic. I definitely hugged a tree after reading!

a worthwhile read but not as good as The Hidden Life of Trees.

This is a wonderful book if you have any interest in trees. He writes pretty randomly, but I enjoyed as an audio book. So much information that can be used to further my quest to get more into nature. Love it.
