While I'll probably never top my review of [b:Pastoralia|331690|Pastoralia|George Saunders|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1442535823l/331690._SY75_.jpg|4225], this book inspired a lot of the same feelings in me. That said, I also never really realized just how Kafkaesque so much of his work can be -- especially "Liberation Day" and "Ghoul", which both have a little Phildickian thing going on as well, now that I think of it.

Four stars if you like speculative fiction.

What a nut

Kocham gościa i mógłbym czytać go w nieskończoność mimo tego że tak podobne te opowiadania są jak się człowiek zastanowi nad zawartością różnych jego zbiorów

Perhaps not my favorite by George Saunders, but entertaining, nonetheless. Recommend for any fans of Saunders, as well as fans of short stories that thrive in the uncanny.

Saunders is a master of writing and short stories. His stories are odd, unpredictable, and I often spend some time trying to figure out what’s going on. But they always come together.

I always enjoy George Saunders’ short stories. He does dystopia in totally fascinating ways, extraordinarily imaginative, disturbing, and confusing, in a good way. The stories aren’t all dystopian, though he certainly knows how to show the dark side of people. The stories can also be funny and moving.

This is a group of absurdist, sometimes dystopian, sometimes poignant, sometimes irreverent short stories. Saunders does an amazing job with intentionally using all of his language to orchestrate these layered stories.

The king stay the king. Not necessarily his best - I lean Pastoralia or Tenth of December there - but title story is an all timer and lots of other high points throughout.
