If you skip this one, you'll be saving yourself some time that you can use toward a better book. If you like her works, I thought she did a better job with One by One, Never Lie, The Housemaid, The Locked Door, and The Teacher. This and the others I've read by her but not listed above have been mediocre at best but often worse.

Freida McFadden does it again with her latest mystery thriller that explores the dangers our partners bring to us and how we can never truly know anyone fully.
This story is told in two timelines. In the past, Tom is trying to finally date the love of his life. But a series of murders has happened, and now her father, the police chief, is suspicious of his daughter being alone with any man. In present day, Sydney knows how terrible the world of online dating can be. But on a whim, she (literally) runs into the perfect man. But is he maybe too perfect? Sydney starts to see signs that everything might not be right with her boyfriend, but in this day and age, who can give up on a *mostly* great guy?
The Boyfriend is a fun thriller that Freida's fans will definitely enjoy. It has all of her signature twists and turns with characters you can't trust and even shadier side characters.
I did find the ending to be a tad predictable and the characters to be a little... dense and oblivious to their surroundings. However, I did enjoy the ride. It was a fun time if you shut your brain off (like I do for most of my thriller reads).
