Sweet & wholesome, quick bedtime read for small children. Narration was slow but still appropriate for a calm reading. The cover is also stunning!

(ALC received from NetGalley in exchange for honest review. Thank you.)

In a very simple way this book reminds us that all families are the same; that when a loving parent goes away, their child misses them and counts the days until their return.

Such a cute story! I've read the majority of LaCour's other works but this was the first children's book I read and I still very much enjoyed it.

A cute story about an atypical family and how they deal with one of the members (Mommy) on a work trip for a week. Each day they deal with their routine and how things are different with one person gone. I love the quote, "It's tricky to find the right spot when I'm not in the middle." The illustrations are fun and full of color. Great story for a child who will be missing a parent for a bit of time, plus it shows an LGBTQ+ family and how they are just like every other family, with the same problems and emotions as anyone else.

A simple story of a how a little girl deals with her Mommy leaving for a week for work. Throughout the story are great examples of how to comfort a child who misses their parent, whether male or female. Also a great representation of the diversity of families and the love that they share. Great for interracial families, LGBTQ, or any family that has a parent leave for an extended period of time.
