I completely understand how this book spawned a subgenre; so many elements brush up against the underside of excellence but never quite break the surface tension. underdeveloped characters and slow pacing didn’t stop me from wanting to know what happened next. I think this book did what it set out to do, but I wanted *more* of everything out of it. I guess that’s the gasoline within the fuel of any fanfiction, a desire to see something like it, but better.
