The final book of the Princess Academy trilogy comes full circle as Miri becomes a tutor at a new Princess Academy.

Danland is on the verge of war, and its best defense is to offer a marriage alliance with the invading country. Just as she was about to go home to Mount Eskel, Miri is commanded to go instead to a swampland to prepare three of the king’s relatives to fulfill their roles as political chess pieces. But because Miri is Miri, she’s not interested in teaching them to be pawns … She’s going to inspire them to be queens!

This whole series is so empowering and fun to read! I love the individuality of the characters and their development, and all the little aha! moments when the puzzle pieces fall into place.

Great pacing, structure, action, and payoff as always. I love all of Shannon Hales works. The happy endings make the reads worthwhile

The Forgotten Sisters – Shannon Hale

Synopsis:
After becoming a hero of Asland, Miri is ready to return home to her mountain, but Katar and the king have other plans. Danland is on the verge of war with Stora, and it’s somehow up to Miri to save her people once again. She is sent to Lesser Alva to tutor the king’s cousins, a new generation of princesses. But Lesser Alva is nothing like she expected, and neither are the three girls. Astrid, Felissa, and Sus are swamp girls who haven’t received a single payment from the king they were promised. Miri certainly has her work cut out for her.
But just as things are starting to go well, Miri’s world is flipped upside down. The girls’ training reveals a secret buried by the royal family, and the stakes are raised. Miri and her new friends must rely on all the tools at their disposal to save the kingdom and return home.

What I Liked:
Miri really takes her job seriously but cares more about the girls, and their friendship is really sweet
Miri’s constant discovery of linder’s power
The plot twist!!
Astrid receiving what she deserves

What I Disliked:
It took me a while to actually get into it, but once I hit the halfway point, I flew through the rest of the book
Peder is kind of annoying oops

Rating: 3/5 stars

Yay!

This story was everything I could've asked it to be, with an ending so satisfying and heartwarming that I teared up.

The first half was a bit slow, I admit. However, I devoured the second half. I loved it dearly and feel so content with the end of this trilogy. If you’re looking for a book that will wrap up in the best ways possible but will keep you guessing as to HOW exactly it’ll do that, this is it.
