I had to give this 5 stars. I'm just so sentimental. Really, a beautiful book, but also just a lovely ending to the surprising extension of my favorite book of all time, Princess Academy. So sentimental. I swear, I'm holding in tears because the last chapter or two is such an excellent close and I kinda feel like I'm 12 again.

I was a bit worried when I started this. I loved the other two [b:Princess Academy|22529360|Princess Academy (Princess Academy, #1)|Shannon Hale|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1420944888s/22529360.jpg|3299770] books, and I was worried that this one wouldn't live up the previous two. As usual, I was wrong.

While this book is certainly different then the other two, it still has the great social commentary that the other two books had. Even though this book is Middlegrade, it has some wonderful social commentary. I don't want to say too much for fear of spoiling the book, but the subtle criticisms of our society really made the book.

And that ending was freaking amazing. And then the epilogue!!!

In conclusion, just do yourself a favor and read this awesome series.

Such a good ending to the trilogy!

A great conclusion to this trilogy. I loved these books since the beginning. I feel that anyone (child or an adult) can enjoy these books. They are well written. I love that Shannon Hale made a strong female character with flaws. Miri understands the importance of friendship and family. These three books show Miri grow and do the things she needs to do to give back to her family and friends. I highly recommend these books.

i liked it

A lovely conclusion to the Princess Academy books. I will miss these characters.

“Are you so afraid of a baby girl?” Miri said, leaning toward him across the table. “How about me? Do I terrify you too? Watch out, I wear a dress and don’t grow a beard, and if you don’t keep me in check, I’ll steal all your power!”

Probably worth the read just for the feminist quotes.

I really, really love this series! People at school laughed because I went from Hawthorne to Hale in thirty seconds flat. But oh my goodness, a brain can only take so much classic literature.

I totally loved this book! Miri has been sent to a swamp to run a Princess Academy for three cousins of the king in order to stop a war from happening and to save her home town. However, the princesses live in poverty and don't know they are related to the king, and Miri soon realizes that many things are not as they seem or should be. There is lots of action, adventure, humor, some romance and strong female characters in this fantastic book. I think this book is the end of the trilogy, but I would love to see the story continued with the fabulous characters that were introduced in this book. I received this book free to review from Netgalley and I highly recommend it.
