Not as good as the second one, but still enjoyable. I like that even though these are "princess books", they have a lot more meat to the story.

I love this series. This was a fun quick read, though I must say I feel like Shannon Hale rushed the storyline a bit. Characterization was on the shallow side for new players in the story and I feel like her endings are usually more satisfying. Oh well, I still liked it!
Hale hooked me in the first chapter. It was an exciting and clever end to the trilogy.
***POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR FIRST TWO BOOKS IN THE SERIES***
Guys, this series is wonderful. I love the world Shannon Hale has created and Miri is an awesome heroine, funny and witty and intelligent and just a girl I can rally behind.
I really enjoyed reconnecting with this world and all the characters in The Forgotten Sisters and meeting new friends! Cause that's how Shannon Hale's writing makes me feel, like I'm meeting new friends and reconnecting with old ones. It took us some time to get used to each other again, but after that we had a lot of fun. I thought the politics in the first two books were not so easy to navigate, but The Forgotten Sisters adds another layer of intricate plotting and secrets and just a whole lot of WHAT?? when Miri and I discovered what it was exactly that was going on.
I like that we got to explore another part of the world Miri lives in, while holding true to the people and places we've been introduced to before. And like I mentioned before, Miri is pretty awesome. I really liked the bantery relationship she has with Peder. Those two truly care about each other and I think they make a great couple. It's filled with mutual respect and love and it's a great example.
I also really appreciate how much girlpower there is in this series, without being all rah-rah boys are inferior. I mean, Shannon Hale shows how boys and girls can work together and how everyone has their own set of talents, regardless of gender. It's a pretty awesome message to send in my opinion.
Shannon Hale has a real gift for storytelling and I definitely enjoyed myself while reading The Forgotten Sisters, it's sweet and chamring and funny and I would just really recommend this series as whole!
My rating: 4 stars

Certainly the most action-packed book of the series! Such a sweet, creative, and wholesome quarantine read

My first introduction to the Princess Academy series was through Palace of Stone, the second novel which I read some time ago. I was impressed by Hale’s ability to write a story that was both engaging and educational, and was quick to say that Palace of Stone was a favorite for that year. With The Forgotten Sisters, Hale has penned another charming addition to the series. In this tale of a rambunctious trio of sisters living in the swamps, Miri must once again prove her mettle and figure out what to do in time to make things right – for herself, for her village, for these sisters, for the kingdom.
Miri is still the same wonderful character that I fell in love with. Even though she would most assuredly rather be with her family and Peder in her home village, she steps up to the plate to perform the necessary duties to protect her village and her kingdom. She does get into quite a few scrapes, some fun and some serious. But her steel will, her clever mind and her kindness definitely shine again in The Forgotten Sisters. Alongside friends and enemies old and new, Miri certainly shows readers how to stay strong in the face of everything that life throws her way.
While Palace of Stone is still my favorite installment, The Forgotten Sisters was a delightful reading experience – and that’s in spite of a slightly shaky start. It was fun to revisit old friends and discover new ones; it was even more entertaining to witness the twists. Whether you’re a long-time fan or new to the series, The Forgotten Sisters is definitely worth a read.

I'm disappointed in this book. I was so excited to see that there would be another Princess Academy book! I couldn't wait to read it. Unfortunately this book was not as good as the previous books.
The book starts off the girls leaving to go back home. Miri stayed for another year in order to study at the Queen's Castle. As Miri is saying good-bye to Britta and Steffan a guard comes and informs Miri that the King wants to see her right away. She tells Peder to go without her saying she'll arrive shortly.
When she, Britta and Steffan see the King they find out that there will be a war coming soon. In order to stop the war the King wants to have one of his cousins married off to King Fader. The King tells Miri that he wants her to train these girls in the things she was thought at Princess Academy. Miri tries agruing that she has only studied for one year at the Queens Castle and you have to have three more years in order to teach someone. But the Queen really wants Miri to teach the girls. The Kings lets her think it over some more.
Katar meets Miri and explains that she must do this as to avoid the war. Katar reveals to Miri that the Kings delegate is trying to convince the King to sell their home Mount Eskel. If their home gets sold they will not working under some merchants who will not pay them what they deserve. After hearing all this Miri makes up her mind and decides to agree with the King.
When she is summoned to meet the King she explains that she will only do so if Mount Eskel is not sold and instead given to the graduates of the Princess Academy as they are now the Britta's ladies. The delegate is absolutely livid about Miri's proposal whereas the King agrees so long as she does a good job.
Miri reaches the girls home and they get off on the wrong foot. The girls do not like Miri because she barged into their house and they consider her some 'City girl'. The girls are rude and barbaric. Miri does teach them despite the fact that they don't like her. A few hours everyday she manages to tutor them.
Throughout her stay, Miri discovers that despite the fact that they are royals they did not receive any money from the King nor do they live in better conditions. The girls mother is dead and everyone in the town avoids them like a plague.
They eventually warm up to Miri and even consider her one of them. Peder arrives to inform Miri that the King's castle is under siege and that they must leave with the girls. They leave and manage to reach the castle safely. In order to stop the war Miri, Britta and the girls set off to go meet with King Fader and arrange the marriage.
When they the girls get into a bit of situation with King Fader's guards how they got out of the situation wasn't even realistic and didn't make any sense. It felt too good to be true. Also when Miri was confronted by Dogface earlier in this book that was also not realistic. This aspects really killed the book for me and lowered the rating.
The ending was sweet! I liked how everything was tied up nicely. As usual this book had a phenomenal friendship between the female characters. Peder was such a doll and the girls were nice as well! The epilogue hints at a possible spin-off but I think I'll pass.
Overall this was an okay book. It could've been better. I would recommend it to fans of the series.
