A story full of diverse characters our love interests , one is Jewish and the other appears to be mixed race.

An amazing friends to lovers story which talks about mental health hand in hand with romance both educating and in an accepting manner.

All too often mental health is “unloveable” in romance so it’s nice to see it normalised , respected in a healthy written way

BOOK REVIEW

A Brush With Love / Mazey Eddings
Rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I felt this one was a super relatable read, especially for anyone who has struggled with anxiety!! such good representation of mental health in this one 🫶🏼

things i loved:
🪥 I connected to Harper (FMC) immediately, the way she kept her walls up around Dan was so relatable
🪥 this book is so genuinely written, that I often forgot it was fiction. I don’t know how to put into words what this book make me feel but it was beautiful and heartbreaking and just everything I needed, it made me feel seen
🪥 the bond that Harper and Dan formed was so pure, they are one of my favourite romance couples and I loved how much they helped each other both personally and professionally
🪥 the vulnerability that Harper shows whilst falling for Dan is like nothing else. the trust and the tenderness made it feel so real and raw and shows that struggling with mental health doesn’t make you any less deserving of true love and happiness

if you enjoyed the Love Hypothesis, I think you would enjoy this one too!! it has similar vibes with successful females in STEM 🩵

Friends to lovers, he falls first, dual POV STEM romance, with mental illness rep and a badass girl friend group. I think the FMC’s anxiety was handled in a respect and accurate way. But genuinely, the amount of miscommunication needed to advance this plot for almost 350 pages is just too high for me. I know that some of this is anxiety logic, which felt accurate, but some of it just made Harper seem so dense and made me frustrated with her. But overall, I loved the banter and the way it tackles sexism and internalized ableism.
