As someone who struggles with anxiety, I appreciate the representation so much. I also did have a hard time reading the main characters inner dialogue and it didn't put me in the best headspace, so read with caution if that is something you also struggle with.

I did enjoy the overall topic, I have never read a dental themed romance and did enjoy the characters even if they were all very frustrating at times. I am looking forward to continuing the series.

IF ANYONE DARES TO SAY ANYTHING BAD ABOUT THIS BOOK I WILL UNFRIEND YOU IMMEDIATELY

mazey eddings, not only is your Instagram account hilarious but your writing style is absolutely brilliant. I can’t even begin to express why I am so amazed by this book starting with how it incorporates so many topics so respectfully and naturally. but plan to read an amazing story with realistic representation of topics like mental health, feminism, abusive relationships, death it’s all in there and I love it. I admire how mazey connected mental health and ableism and how you can manage it. the description of anxiety made me feel seen (as a person that has anxiety) and it’s executed in a way that seriously stunned me. I love the characters. I love Dan (even though he has a slightly weird name), I love Harper, I love everybody in this book. mazey eddings manages it to write alluring and lovable characters that you just wanna hug.

What I particularly enjoyed was for example how dan realized it’s not healthy for him to stay if harper was just playing with him and I love that harper realized that it was the best step to take. I really enjoyed how the storyline between parents and the main character made you get so much more inside to the character itself and how parents affect the relationship that you have to yourself . i adore dan and harper together, I adore their random grocery runs and I absolutely adore how dan always notices the anxiety that harper feels. get me a dan right now please and thank you.

I just have to say I am eternally grateful for this book. it’s an amazing book for women in STEM and I see  absolutely no flaw in this book (but maybe it’s just a post haze from just finishing the book but yolo)

I DEEPLY RECOMMEND READING THIS BOOK xoxo love u

p.s.: i think i was definitly high with good-book-weed

as someone with anxiety and adhd, the representation shown in harper and lizzie made me feel so seen and so not alone that it felt like my heart was given a hug!!

I wanted so badly to love this book, but it really didn't work for me. Many others have loved it though, so I'm quite positive it is a me thing...but here are my thoughts.

1. I LOVED the meet cute. It was adorable and then she helped him fix his project and she was so patient and sweet and Dan was just adorable.

2. I didn't appreciate how one minute she didn't want Dan to stand up for her at the dental school but he could later in a social setting...

3. This book was incredibly crude/crass and it totally ruined it for me. Those parts were so frequent that they kept interrupting the flow of the book for me.

4. I did think the anxiety rep was decent. I like how it ended with some characters getting the professional help they needed.

But unfortunately the parts that didn't work for me far outweighed the good.

I received an advanced copy of this book through NetGalley. This is my honest review.

Dude this book was so fucking cute my chest hurt reading it. It's got only one sex scene but the emotional turmoil this put me through more than compensates for the lack of titillating content if you know what I mean.

Harper is such a strong character and her anxiety and panic disorder is folded into that really well. I loved also how caring Dan was, how willing he was to work within Harper's boundaries and flirt with her (consent given obviously) until she was coaxed out of her shell. I was also really glad that his character allowed for him to put his foot down when it seemed like emotionally he was getting the shorter end of the stick. It was a great balance of both characters setting boundaries and learning to fit each other into their lives.

Lovely story!
