THIS WAS SO GOOD.

I don't usually read contemporary romance, but this was SO fun! I didn't think I'd be so into it. The story is (somewhat predictable) but still really entertaining and funny. I was really pleasantly surprised by the romance also; I thought this was just going to be a comedy about wedding drama. But let me tell you, I fell in love with the male love interest omg. This novel reminded me that "best friends to lovers" can be just as swoon-worthy as "enemies to lovers." I'm glad I read this, it's opened my eyes to romantic novels outside my usual picks :)

rounded up from a 2.75 ⭐️.

this was pretty funny but it still lacked the romance that i wanted. it had nothing to do with the author and mostly what i wanted to read at that specific time but i appreciated how funny lily actually was.

this is a lovely story for those who have some sort of questions about their love life and feel hopeless at one point. lily captures the entirety of having to love your friends even at a point of your life where you don’t feel exactly comfortable with everything happening around you. overall i thought it was sweet and interesting!

3.5 rating.

I chose to read this book because I read She’s Up To No Good and loved it. The reviews looked promising for this book so I was excited to start reading.

I found myself only caring about Megan and Tim’s wedding because of the whole Alex situation. Caryn’s wedding was my least favorite, a little too catty for my liking.

This had the full enjoyment of a fluffy romance with the romance being almost entirely a subplot of the book. Instead, the book focuses on relationships between friends and family in a way that we really don’t see often enough. The main character agrees at the start of the book to be in five weddings over the course of six weeks, which of course leads to all sorts of stress, wedding drama, and hurt feelings. The author decides to take out her frustrations in an anonymous blog, which of course could never have any negative repercussions. There were definitely flaws with this book. The characters were often unlovable and made horrendous choices. The writing style was funny, but simple (like most frothy stories, so really what did you expect). But the real power of it is how relatable and honest the author made the whole story feel. Yes, the decisions were bad, but you can see where they came from and understand it, even if it makes you want to strangle the character. And the consequences were very real instead of being all sunshine and roses. Generally, I think we need more books like this for adults as many stories about female friendships are focused on YA instead.

4.5/5. This book was SO cute- loved the main character and the love interest. Not the most life changing literature I’ve ever read but definitely a cute and easy summer read. Only took off .5 because I haaaaate the miscommunication trope!
