I was mostly bored. The couple unfortunately wasn’t able to pull me in.

This felt very similar to Blonde Identity which is why I wanted to read it in the first place but it didn’t really live up to my expectations. The character seemed to have no chemistry really and everything just felt surface level about this book

Books like this are totally my jam. I love action/adventure/romance that is just a little over the top. Sadly, the heroine ruined this book for me. She's simply TSTL. Girlfriend, your life is in danger, your sister's life is in danger, and you literally can't stop lusting after this dude even in the middle of incredible danger? I'm pissed that the heroine harshed on my jam.

I’m a sucker for any book about the CIA or spies, so this one hit the spot! It wasn’t the best book I’ve ever read on the topic, but it also wasn’t the worst.

I think this book had a solid 50/50 split between the romance and the mystery, but I did feel like it favored the mystery a little more. I wouldn’t call this a 4.5⭐️ or a 5⭐️ read only because I didn’t connect with the characters as much as I wanted to. I also wasn’t a huge fan of how the FMC learned the first name of the MMC on the last page. There wasn’t any clarification at the end on if they stayed together or not, and I typically prefer my books to have a HEA not an HFN or questionable ending.

Safety:
• no sex scenes. Some heated scenes but nothing explicit
• no virgins
• no OW/OM
• FMC doesn’t like causal hookups/ she prefers relationships
• MMC only does hookups with no strings attached
• MMC has been in love before and his girlfriend died three years ago. Since then, he does not date seriously anymore (mentioned around 3 times)
• FMC mentions her ex boyfriend around 7-10 times throughout the book. The breakup was two years ago, but she is still hung up on him a little.
