This book has it all - heartbreak, spice, and love. In the 1st 10 minutes my heart broke for Ethan; however 30 minutes later my heart (& Ethan's) was mending. This book really pulled at my heartstrings & had me going through all the emotions & I would listen to it all over again!! I truly love Ethan & Honor's story

I fell in love with these characters and OMG what a story! Just perfect.

Booo. I’m so tired of “she’s mine” or “hands off my woman.” Not once did Ethan refer to Honor as anything other than “my woman” the whole book. BOOOO. Look I like to read smut as much as the next person, and a little jealousy can be flattering but the ownership shit? Just no.

As police man and single dad, Ethan has his hands quite full. He has had no interest in a relationship since the mother of his child left them directly after she had given birth. That changes pretty much immediately when Honor enters his life by applying for a room he is renting out. While she comes with some baggage of her own, he obviously has bigger trust issues than he had realized.

Well, as the first book in the series we can again check of cheesy, predictable and stereotypes. Ethan with his back and forth, hot and cold is rather annoying. Much of the drama he causes is just over the top and avoidable.

I consider my palate cleansed. Moving on to something with at least a little more depth and substance.

Still a new author for me, but I loved this book from Riley Edwards. I have a bone-deep love for Ethan, Cason, and Honor. I love how each character is so strong and unique.

This is a story of family and of love. Ethan, now a cop, has been raising his baby girl as a single dad since he was sixteen. Carson, Ethan’s young daughter, is full of love and shines with so much determination and curiosity. Her love for learning is so endearing.

They then meet Honor and Honor’s name and character are absolutely fitting in the Next Generation Universe. Honor, with her own complicated background, is a very strong character and challenges Ethan while loving Carson throughout the storyline. I loved how strong Riley made Honor’s character, she’s no pushover.

Also, new to me are the narrators Devon Grace and Troy Duran, whom both did a good job with the characters throughout the book.

There are several twists and turns throughout this book that made the story for me. Fun listen! Definitely a great story! This book is definitely going to be put on my repeat list.

“I’ve never felt a spark of excitement so deep I never wanted to breathe again.”

Chasing Honor is the second book in Riley Edwards’ Next Generation series. Ethan and Honor swept me off my feet, but Carson utterly melted my heart! Ethan Lenox is a twenty-four year old single dad. It’s been Ethan and Carson against the world since the day she was born; she is everything to him and he would do anything to protect her. When a young stranger applies to rent a room in their home, Ethan’s protective nature takes over…not only for Carson, but the woman he barely knew. Honor escaped a toxic home environment to finally build a life for herself. Chasing Honor is a spicy single dad, low-angst, romantic suspense. The instant chemistry between the protective, growly, hot cop Ethan and the sweet-as-pie, beguiling photographer Honor is scorching hot. I loved how welcoming Ethan’s family was with Honor; they instantly enveloped her in their tight-knit community. Loaded with plot twists, super steamy romance, and wonderfully dynamic characters, Chasing Honor is a can’t miss suspenseful love story.

“I’d never known bone-deep, soul-consuming love. Now that I had, I wasn’t going to let it go.”

Troy Duran and Devon Grace have been a delight to listen to in Riley Edwards’ Next Generation series. I love the consistency of this awesome duo tackling this audiobook series. Their pacing and style complement each other perfectly. Troy’s gruff, low timbre was a great choice to portray Ethan’s broody, lone-wolf persona. Devon beautifully embodies Honor’s demure, kind-hearted, sultry ray of sunshine personality. I’m really enjoying their distinct character choices throughout this series so far; I can’t wait to continue with Jason and Mercy! If you like captivating suspense performed by a terrific narration team, Chasing Honor is your next audiobook!
