X-MEN '97 INSPIRED READING #14

Grant Morrison. This was... weird. Good but weird. The destruction of Genosha was a bit anti-climatic, I think the show did it better (speaking of... I'm still not okay from that).

This was some really dread-inspiring stuff but it was written by Grant Morrison so that was kind of expected. Loving all the art except Cyclops looks kind of ridiculous.

Grant Morrison is largely to thank for making the X-Men what they are today. I enjoyed this opening to his run of New X-Men, but I'm more excited to see where he takes the story next. The story is grounded in modern conflicts, and I love how willingly he drops in characters that have useless mutations. The art style may not be for everyone, but I think it's stylish and works in the context of the story.
