Okay, I’ll admit it! I cried… but not because of this crazy “love story.” No, chapter thirty two is what brought tears to my eyes. This is when Lily sits down with her mom and tells her everything. My mom is my best friend and this scene was just so relatable and emotional.
Ultimately, I really appreciate the perspective this book gave me, and I really respect Mrs. Hoover for taking the time to tell this story.
Will definitely be adding more of her books to my ever growing list.

(3.5/5) I liked this book a lot but I really found myself only caring for atlas and Lily’s part. I hated Ryle the entire time. But I’m very happy about the ending.

as someone who went through a lot of the same trauma as the main character Lily, this is amazing. Colleen’s note at the end really pulled it all together and made it make sense with how well it was written. It’s heartbreaking. Feels like you wanna grab Lily straight out of the pages and give her a hug. There’s a lot of triggers in here so if you’re sensitive to things like rape, i’d tread carefully.
This was my very first CoHo book and it made me read 4 more, immediately after this one. This book is written beautifully and pulls the real truth of domestic violence and childhood trauma to the surface. If you want to feel something, read this book.

When i was reading the last few chapters i was telling myself "if she ended up with ryle i'm giving the story 3 stars, if she ended up with atlas i'm giving it 4 stars" and thank god, it's 4 stars! I was dying to get more of atlas, i want more of him he's amazing uhfkkdjds. Colleen's note at the end of the book made me so emotional, the idea and the purpose of writing this book was ...so many things...it wasn't easy for her to write such a thing and i appreciate her writing this to her mother.
