I have not read a sci-fi in a while and I really enjoyed this one. It is really heavy on the science aspect of sci-fi but it is really enjoyable. It does get dark as it is heavily tied to someone trying to stop the end of the world. But there are still light-hearted moments with some of the characters, especially Rocky.

the science mostly went over my head but i loved the story. also the first audiobook that I’ve ever finished, the narrator did an amazing job and made the book fun to listen to.

I don't usually read sci-fi but this one knocked it out of the park. It reminded me of a mix between Interstellar and Ender's Game, both of which I love. The scientific, linguistic, and political components were so interesting to me that I had to give it a 5. From the first to the last sentence it had my attention, I loved it!!

I'm not nearly smart enough to understand the science stuff in this book, but I didn't need to. SiFi has never been my go-to genre, and to be frank, it's not actually something I'm interested in, BUT I love this book so much. It has it all. The world building is superb,  but my goodness, the relationship between Rylan Grace (human) and Rocky (Eridian) is even better. The story is so so good. Original, funny, enjoyable, thrilling, compelling, irresistible, space adventure. It's just wonderful. Did I say I loved it.....

Amazing! A personal mystery within a scientific one. A triumph of camaraderie on Earth and in space. A circumstance that asks us to question our morals and thought processes. This novel was relentless in captivating the reader and demanding turned page after turned page. Funny, emotional, and original, this book and its characters left me invested in science in a way I could not have predicted, even influencing the way I approach critical analysis and problem solving. With a rather unexpected ending, the story leaves our beloved characters in a surprising but heartwarming predicament that readers can absolutely relish in.
