This is an amazing book that literally will break your heart. I LOVED the perspective of this book, especially since it's different compared to others. It's so sad, messed up, relatable, real and upsetting that made it more appealing for me. Great great great read!

14 year old Donnie is struggling to keep his crumbling family together. His sister, Karen, is sick with an eating disorder, his parents are constantly fighting and his social life at school is non-existent Donnie decides that by becoming invisible is the best way to keep everyone else from falling apart.

I really liked that this was told from Donnie's point of view rather than his sister. It was interesting to see how Karen's disorder affected those around her. From the beginning of the book, I sympathized with Donnie and wanted to protect him. He is so innocent and sweet and you could tell how much he cared for his sister. The prologue instantly drew me in and I wanted to see how the story got to that point. It's a rather quick read but extremely impactful in my opinion, definitely recommend it!

Lovely read, read it in a day because it's quite easy in its structure to be honest. I'm quite sure though that this is intended to show the age of the narrator. This is comforting.
Suffering with anorexia myself, I thought that tho would be an interesting read from a different point of view, simply because I often wonder how my eating disorder affects my little brother - just a year older than Donnie.
This made me realise that he cares a lot more than I think he does, as a lot of the things within the book echo what sometimes happens in our household, and I don't think Donnie really understood, but the thing is he tried. I like to think my brother does this too.
Highly recommended by me.

The thing this book did differently from every other Teen Eating Disorder book I read is having the story be told from the sibling of the person with the disorder. Also having a male narrator is fairly uncommon in these, so that was also a nice change of pace that felt very Judy Blume's "Then Again Maybe I Won't." But the writing was still mediocre and the girl dealing with anorexia was super rude and horrible to everyone, so this was mostly just annoying to get through.
