Quite enjoyed this book, look forward to reading more by this author. I rolled my eyes more often than not, with all the unlikely-reluctant-uglyfug hero going on. Great for long rides on trains or planes, it'll hold your attention and keep your entertained. Sarcastically funny, a very big plus.

A fine, fine book in the tradition of the fantastical humorist Terry Pratchett. Never Dead Ned is a reluctant immortal, but that doesn't mean he can't die; He just can't stay dead. Hilarity ensues. Grand, bone-crushing hilarity.

Read it or an ogre will eat you.

A. Lee Martinez is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. He has a sense of wit that never lets up. What is more rare is that he is able to weave a complex story together throughout, which is difficult as sometimes authors sacrifice good storytelling for a few good laughs. I definitely recommend this book.

I went into this book expecting to have fun and it delivered. It's not the best book of all time but it made me smile which is what I was looking for. i liked the idea that this was your usual story about heroes and/or the typical fantasy characters - elves, dwarves, and halfling. It's a light read and I'd recommend it to anyone who likes high fantasy or plays fantasy RPG (especially old school tabletop D&D).

Someone recommended this to me. I wish they hadn't. It is cheesy and boring. Reads like bad discworld fanfiction
