DNF @ 38%

Colour me surprised, this was the last book on earth I thought I would DNF. I was literally SO excited for this book! But so many things have let me down...

Firstly this isn't a cozy book with romance, it's more like a full-fledged romance and I wasn't prepared for it. The dragons don't sort of play as big of a role in the worldbuilding I had hoped for.
But even after I adjusted my expectations I just couldn't root for the insta-romance. It's utterly boring, I couldn't care about the two of them getting together. The two characters sort of form an idea of each other without even engaging much and that idea happens to be exactly who the other person is because the author knows both characters. So like we never get to see them truly get to know each other in meaningful ways? It's kind of hard to explain, I just had trouble seeing this as a well developed relationship and couldn't get myself to care enough to read on.

This was such a cozy little, spice-free romance. The pining, the yearning, and the inevitable HEA was top tier.
