I have mixed feelings about this book. It was hard for me to get on board with the storyline. Logan and Cara had known each other for years because of mutual friends/family. They both had been with other people through that time, and I’m glad the book didn’t go into it. During those years, they claimed they hated each other. They were really drunk one what night and had sex with each other. They were so drunk that they didn’t think the other person even remembered that they had sex. This is how the book started. Logan, so drunk, having sex, but having a hard time because he was so intoxicated. And then Cara is pregnant. All of a sudden, they are totally into each other from one sexual encounter. And for a long book, there was really no character depth or development in Cara. She had a pretty flat personality.

first (and last) accidental pregnancy trope i have read this year.
Logan and Cara
Now 4 down and lots of questions still need to be answered. It’s bitter sweet. But Logan and Cara were great and loved the banter.

Omg, Logan is now my favorite book boyfriend from Claire (Sorry, Cooper. You are still a close second). A drunken night leads to the two people who you wished would just get together already since Book 2 (Fighting for Us). I love we get to see Cara’s vulnerable side. There is pure steam right off the first page. Grams is always right, she just knows things. I love the banter between Cara and Logan. I am exceedingly happy that these two finally have their story.
November 2022 audiobook review: I did enjoy the performances by Teddy Hamilton and Virginia Rose. However at times I could hear a difference in Logan/Teddy Hamilton’s narration. I’m not sure if it was an editing thing but his voice did not sound the same at different points throughout the story.

There is so much in this book that I can't take seriously (and some of it even gives me the ick). First: the town is named Tilikum, which is the name of the orca from SeaWorld (and is an innuendo all by itself). Second: Logan insists on using different "bro" nicknames for his brothers (broatmeal, bro mein, and bromeo to name a few) and then they name their child Broderick (I cannot take you seriously). Third: 3/5 Bailey brothers are firefighters and a 4th wanted to be one (guys, there are jobs in a small town other than firefighter). And fourth: all 5 brothers believe the town's mystery missing treasure could save their Gram's home (I'm all for a goofy side-plot, but you cannot convince me that 5 grown ass adult men really believe it to be a viable option (even as a last resort)).
