I enjoyed learning about the Lusitania but I didn't really enjoy the actual story...

This book was terrible. How does stuff like this even get published?

The worst part is, it had such potential. Jerry Borrowman really could have gone above and beyond here, and made the story stand out. He could have fleshed out the characters, he could have told many, many peoples' stories. But no.

He introduces German characters, fleshes them out, and then midway through the book changes focus. The dialogue is stinted and painful. The sentences are simple and boring. There are no surprises here. Oh, except finding out that Everett has a son named Leonard. But wait, that's not really relevant, so never mind.

I could go on and on. I was going to cite a paragraph that I found particularly odious, but I can't stomach flipping back through the pages to find it. I mean, this book was just awful. Go watch Titanic or read the Wikipedia page on the Lusitania. I promise it will be more enjoyable.

I just want to re-write this one. It could have been so awesome.
