3.25-3.5 stars. This was a pretty good book. This is Jordan and April's story. April is at Comicon for work, when she meets and has an anonymous one night stand while she and her partner are in costume. She had just found out that her mother was marrying her fourth husband- April's ex boyfriend. So she was upset, drank too much, and acted out of character by having a fling with a stranger. The problem is that she discovers the next day, that not only did she film the act, it somehow got posted online and went viral. The costumes April and her partner were wearing in the video were from the video game that her work develops. April is shocked to find out that practically everyone has seen the video, but glad that no one knows it is her. But the person who is in the video knows that it is her. And that person is Jordan, April's boss. Jordan thinks that she filmed him and uploaded the video on purpose. He makes her life at work Hell. He soon sees that it was not done on purpose, though. He doesn't want a relationship, but he can't help to start to like April. Eventually, as they spend more time together, they begin falling for each other. Jordan has baggage to get over before he can commit to a relationship with April and they have to deal with the fallout of their identities being discovered as well.

I am not sure why, but I expected this book to be a bit funnier and less heavy. I think it was the fact that they met at Comicon and had a ONS in cosplay costumes. I thought that was a cute, nerdy meeting and I expected more nerdiness, but there wasn't really much else. Neither Jordan or April are nerdy. I did like the story though. Jordan is a jerk a lot of the time and treats April badly a good bit, in order to punish her and push her away. I did feel like he shaped up by the end. But the book is long and there was a lot more angst than I expected (or prefer). I liked April and I felt bad for her. I am glad that she eventually stood up for herself and earned the respect of Jordan and her father. I did eventually buy into the love between Jordan and April. It was a rocky road getting there, but I was happy for them to get to be happy together. I enjoyed the side characters and the work romance aspect too.

Overall, I did enjoy the book and the way Jordan and April's relationship developed. I may read more from this author when I am in the mood for an angstier read.

April and Jackson are simply amazing. Loved their story!

4.5⭐️ I’m rereading all the romance novels that got me into the genre back in the day. This is by far the best book in this series! I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a workplace romance. Love! Snow White and the Beast for life

It was funny and I loved it. Loved the characters to death. I couldnt stop laughing about the banter between the characters. Jordan is a jerk but I loved him lol. Made me laugh

The first three books in Brenna Aubrey's Gaming the System series definitely had its ups and downs for me. As much as I liked Adam and Mia and enjoyed the nerd angle (which was, admittedly, what drew me to the series in the first place), I felt like it was too drawn out. Their story could've been told in one or two books, IMHO. But, I liked the world she built, her characters and writing, so when I learned she was writing a fourth book for the series, this time following a new set of characters, I was all in. Especially after the tease at the end of At Any Moment with the sex tape. Cosplay and sex tapes? Yes, please.

Jordan and April were a fun couple to follow. I enjoyed the forbidden angle of their romance. I also liked watching them come to realize that they were already WELL acquainted with each other. They had tons of chemistry and their sexy times were HOTT. It was easy to root for them, even as I occasionally wanted to wring Jordan's neck. April struggles during the book, which only endeared her more to me and Jordan comes through and winds up being a great guy. Both Jordan and April grew quite a bit during this book, which only made it that much better.

This was a quick read and a well-written book. I'm anxious to see what Brenna will do with Will's story in For the One. I'm already looking forward to it.

I received a copy of this book from the author, via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review.

This was such a fun and steamy forbidden romance! I am new to this series but fell hard for these characters and this world! April Weiss attends comic-con hoping to let loose and have a one night stand. What she didn't expect, was for a video of the hottest night of her life to viral all over the internet! Jordan Fawkes, has been attracted to his new intern but has kept his distance. When she approaches him in his nerdy comic-con disguise telling him about her desires, he thinks he can help her out and get her out of his system as well. Now the video threatens the success of the project he's worked hard on for several years. He can't let anyone, including his boss, or April know it was him in the video. But the fiery chemistry between them is impossible to ignore, no matter how hard they try to fight it. Will they be able to keep their distance and protect the company from losing it all? I really liked April, she was smart, clever, and a bit naïve. She wants to do the right things, but sadly lacks the confidence and self assurance at times to stand up for herself and do it. Jacob was a billionaire and successful businessman, but had his own embroilments. Together they stumbled along the way, but helped each other become better, and stronger.
I loved the narration by Jason Clarke, and Kirsten Leigh. They really brought out the push/pull between both Jacob and April and allowed us to experience their vulnerabilities and growth, and their sexual tension was palpable! I really enjoyed this fun, emotional and steamy romance!

A great addition to the gaming the system series. I really enjoyed Jordan and April's story. I was not a fan of Jordan, at all, in the previous books I read. But the author definitely changed my opinion of him with this book.
This one night stand turned romance was funny, hot, and overall a lot of fun.
The switching to two other male characters for a couple chapters was a little strange and thru me off for a bit.
I also think too much blame was put on Jordan. He was pretty upfront about his intentions, but April still seemed hurt and surprised when he didn't just change his stance because she was ready to be more.
I loved how much focus was put on the inequalities in society when it comes to men and women in sex. It was thought provoking without being preachy.
Both narrators for a great job in this book.

Haaaaaaaaaaa this book was just the perfect read at the perfect time ☀️

The romance was cliché but I had so much fun reading it ! The banter, the tension, the getting to know each other, the heart-to-heart conversations about their past struggles and family issues, all of that contributed to this great story 💛

Jordan is an ass. Because he was led to think nice guys always get trampled on. He is a ruthless Beast, a dedicated CFO, a fierce business man, an arrogant womanizer and a demanding boss.
He is basically the alphahole you love to hate and hate to love 🔥 and his BDE is off the charts. But the Beast slowly gets tamed and when the heart wants something, the clever thing is to listen to it with confidence and take the leap ❤️‍🩹

April is a bookworm who integrated the hard way that she wasn’t worth standing up for 🥲 She is kind, funny and witty. She does her best to keep the peace and always adapt to put people’s needs before hers. Her journey of self-discovery and reclaiming her place was relatable and I loved her even more after this reread 🫶🏻 She owned her previous mistakes and made sure to incarnate what she believed in her heart was right 💗

The whole group is 🫶🏻✨
- I loved having Mia and Adam’s dynamic back to its healthy state ❤️‍🩹
- Liam’s arc is slightly more present and introduce us to the next book 🤗
- Kat and Mia’s friendship is the best girl ride or die 🔥 they both defend April in a time of need and they’re juste the best girls to have in your corner#nobullshittaken #touchherIpunchyou

After a second read, April and Jordan’s story is still my favorite ✌🏻but I’ve never read the other novels so I’m quite exited to discover Liam’s story and then Kat’s 🔥

my first ever book of the year and already im giving it a 5 stars. 2016 gonna be good!
