I did enjoy this book though it took 100 pages to get the story straight in my head.  Quite a lot of internal dialogue character wise which did detract at times.  Even though it is often written very sharply.  Didn’t guess the twists in the story though and that made for a great ending.

I am reading this series totally out of order, but I'm still enjoying Herron's heroine (a private detective) and the stories themselves. I'm also very excited there's a new Slough House book recently out.

Another solid Mick Herron offering. So reliably witty, compelling, and melancholy - I love all of his books. Terrible title though! (Especially when you’re reading it on the beach, as you get some strange looks from people who are questioning your light reading choices!)
