I really wish I could give half stars on here, because 3 stars seems a little low. I really enjoyed this volume, but it had a couple of issues. But let's start with the good stuff.

Cindy Moon is awesome. Both as Silk and outside of it. As she will gladly remind you, she's spent almost all of her youth in a bunker. This is definitely noticeable in her interactions with others but not in a bad way, just one that tells you a lot about who she is and how she sees things. Silk is quite an optimistic hero, which yeah, Spider-Man is as well, but I can't really put into words how Silk does it as well. I like it though. This book definitely sold me on the character.

Then I also like the supporting cast, with on top J. Jonah Jameson. The villain was also fine, with some pretty good motivations being laid out and their characteristics clear. They could be a little too "Look this is an influencer because she uses these internet terms." at times though, but that kind of faded away as the series went on. Overall this whole story was compelling enough and a fun little adventure that had me pretty invested.

What I mostly didn't like though, was the need for there to be some world-ending threat that I won't spoil, but it felt really tacked on in the last minute. There was build-up to it throughout the run, sure, but it never really felt that important and kind of just felt out of place. I'd rather have had more character interactions between Silk, J.J.J, her brother and the main villain, but we got what we got.

So yeah, again I wish I could give half stars because this book is definitely at least 7/10, but it won't change your life. From what I've gathered this run has been cancelled, which is a shame, but a new one started last week. I can't wait to read it, when my comicbook store finally gets the first issue in stock!

Korean-American Spider Woman?! Finally!! She’s so spunky and cool! The graphics were beautiful. Can she be added to the MCU??
