The first modern novel is a somewhat rambling satire, and I found it a bit mean spirited. Quixote and Sancho Panza are not especially sympathetic, especially Panza, and are the butt of elaborate cruel jokes by people they encounter, which makes for uncomfortable reading.

Part one rocked, part two was slow. I reference this book often and the overall plot is hilarious to think about.

It was written in a way I didn't enjoy, and the main character is so delusional that it makes the book hard to stomach.

I liked the book, it's funny and has a good idea behind it but I read it translated to hebrew and the translation made it very hard to understand and the amount of effort I had to put in to understand what was written just wasn't worth it.
