Interesting book and story. There's definitely a power dynamic in the relationship between the students and professor. I was engaged throughout the story, but it wasn't my favorite.

I don't generally like to look too closely at reviews or review scores before I read a book -- so it's always very validating when the rating I'd give to a book perfectly matches the general opinion of it! Overall, despite it's dark theming, this was a rather light read? If you're looking for something truly dark, you'll want to look elsewhere. I was intrigued by the plot itself, but I felt there could have been even more tension, even more jealousy to really spice things up. I think the story also suffered from the split perspectives from the main heroines. Seeing things from both sides diminished the overall intrigue since the reader knows just how much each heroine is obsessing over the other in her own way. Additionally, the two girls perspectives started sounding so similar midway through the story that I'd often have to flip back to the front of the chapter to remember whose perspective I was following. Overall, this was a rather breezy read for a story with such dark undertones, which might be great if that's what you're looking for.
