Paused for now… not really feeling it and the paranormal aspects were a little weird.

I did not expect this book and you know what? I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!

Annie is an amazingly fresh heroine, with her Scottish dialect, her irreverent honesty, her kind heart and her very relatable anxieties.

John was just a great guy, with some baggage from his past but nothing crazy, with a good heart and a stubborn spirit, fit to quarrel with Annie all day long.

I loved their banter, their friendship, their flirting, their families- just absolutely everything about them. I didn’t even make the connection until late in the book that John is the brother of our heroines from the main family in the Rescued from Ruin series.

Just an absolute gem of a book. Don’t hesitate to read it.

The first book I read in this series and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! Annie is such a precious FL— incredibly funny! And of course John is also a superb ML, loved him too. This series is actually the first HR series I read completely, and all of them I loved! The star of the series for me is Mrs. Macbean and Angus McPherson lol. And unpopular opinion but I loved the supernatural aspect of the series. It wasn’t too fantastical to be beyond something impossible to happen in real life, but still gave a little flavor to the stories. Elisa Braden, you are now one of my favorite HR writers ever!
