Lovely.

Love the atmosphere and writing. Didn't really feel anything beyond that. Maybe the subject is just not my thing.

A winter in Sokcho - as he title suggests this book conveys a very winter-ish and Overall cold atmosphere. So I thought that it would be a great candidate for my next read for daily commuting and doing that teached me two lessons. One is that shivering while reading a book does not add anything to the experience and two is that i avoid commuting during the cold season so i needed a lot longer to finish this book than i would have and propably also should have. This Book itself was an easy read. Nothing much happened but plenty of issiues- social and political - teased while staying subtile. This was too much subtility and too less story for my taste. The namless protagonist and the french guy both were Kind of frustating but the story was over so fast i cant really be mad about anything. Gives you stuff to think about. The writing was good. It gave you a strong feeling of the atmosphere in sokcho. Even of it was told too abruptly

Overall it was faintly intersesting read i think. 3-2 Stars

It was okay. Most of the book was quite slow but I enjoyed the ending. The imagery towards the end was good as well, especially the descriptions of the woman with the bandages.

such depth of character study, loved it
