This was enjoyable enough but very trope-y. Most of Max’s parts were almost painfully unbelievable, and I probably would’ve enjoyed this book better if it were only from Lina’s perspective.

Pretty cute little rom-com. I really enjoyed all the Brazilian cultural references that came with Lina and her family family, and how Max was introduced to it all.
The MCs had good chemistry and banter, but sometimes the dialogue felt like it was trying to be too cute, if you know what I mean, though I may chalk this up to the 1st person narration, which isn’t my preference.
There were also some really odd scenes that popped up seemingly out of nowhere (like some very awkward spoken word/open mike session) that threw the pacing off, but overall, there’s more good than bad here for a quick, light read.

Read this in almost 1 sitting today. I have owned this forever and cant believe it took me so long to read. So glad I am forcing myself to read through the books I own because idk if I would have ever gotten to this one.
I was worried that the whole ex’s brother trope would not sit well with me but I think it became obvious how WRONG Andrew was for Lina so it totally works. I absolutely loved Lina and related to her so much! This book is just contemporary romance at its finest and I enjoyed every minute of it.
Also, the cover of this book is SO good. Obsessed.

Another funny romance. Sosa writes great interactions between characters, especially the way she writes male friendship. I did struggle with the idea of dating an ex's sibling but otherwise very much enjoyed it.
