Very cute, but a little cheesy/corny at times with the writing.

I bought this book because it was recommended by Elizabeth Acevedo. Not to mention it was a $1.99 when I bought it. OMG it’s the best $2 I’ve ever spent. This crazy love story just gives me all the feels. Lina is so set in her ways and all about control. Her inability to fight falling in love and learning to love herself in the process is a true feel good rom-com that everyone loves. Such a great read!

What I Liked:
1. Lina’s Family - I love that we got to see Lina’s Brazilian culture and the store plus all of the Aunties and cousins. I also really liked that it seemed consistent between this book and the sequel
2. Lina’s business - I loved seeing her plan weddings and all of the work that goes into it. I also love that it was a career she found and grew to love because I think that’s relatable for a lot of people.
What I Didn’t Like:
1. There was very little chemistry between Lina and Max. Honestly, I couldn’t really get on board about why they liked each other so much. A lot of their moments felt forced and awkward and honestly is a big part of the reason why I rated this the way I did.
2. Lina’s ex-fiancé is Max’s brother - I really hated this. I find it so odd that she went from being engaged to one brother to the other. It’s super awkward and it was never really addressed by either family, which is weird.

Not bad, but whyyyyy must there be a third act breakup? Also, can we please talk about the poem that Max did when he was drunk. What the frick was that about? I felt second hand embarrassment. And finally, when the happy couple finally get together, the book ends. Period. End of story. Ugh.

This book was so fun and hit the spot nearly perfectly when I was craving a rom com! It had some real life depth to it, but it wasn't super heavy and emotional despite the main character being so relatable. I loved that it was a dual pov book and the Brazilian tastes of culture we got. The voice actors were great, I just wish that they could both be in a single chapter instead of the male actor having to change his voice to read the girl lines in his chapter and vice versa. The steam level was about perfect to me and I loved those two as a couple, as well as the fun dynamic of wedding planning running throughout. I did think the end got dragged out a tad longer than necessary, but it was such a good book and I highly recommend this one for my fellow rom com fans!

I enjoy enemies to lovers as much as the next person, but this got a bit repetitive. I wish the beginning had been tightened up a bit, because once these two got together I really enjoyed their relationship.

I absolutely adored this book. Anyone who knows me, knows I LOVE weddings. The Worst Best Man is all about weddings. Aside from that I especially liked this book because of the main character Lina. As a first gen Latina it’s rare for me to read a book with a character who’s just like me. Linas character perfectly summed up what it’s like to be a Latina raised around other strong people who made many sacrifices to give you the opportunity to be successful. It was beautiful to read a book where the MC adores and appreciates her culture. Also Max is my new favorite book bf. Mia Sosa killed it with this, I can’t wait to read The Wedding Crasher!
