This was a charming, fun holiday read with a few issues. One was that the relationship between Ellie and Jack felt too rushed. I found it hard to believe they'd have such a strong connection after only one day, especially since Ellie is openly demisexual. As a demisexual myself, I appreciated the demi and ace-spec representation but felt it wasn't entirely accurate to our experiences.

The flashback sequences could be jarring at times, but they did give more context to Ellie and Jack's relationship.

Also had some issues with the ending:

I didn't think Ellie and Jack should have gotten back together, or tried to have a relationship. I felt like there was too much baggage there. They'd be better off going their separate ways and taking their failed relationship as a way to learn and grow.

This is the best bi rep I’ve ever read in a book (although admittedly I haven’t read that many books with bi characters so far so take that as you may). The anxiety and panic disorder reps are also really freaking good (I have both & never once did I not understand where Ellie was coming from.. although it did make me think about how hard it’s gotta be to be on the outside of it all.)

Overall this was a fantastic book. Definitely worth the hype & I’m immediately moving The Charm Offensive up on my TBR.

I loved the concept of this but the execution was just too riddled with miscommunication for me. Also, the way Jack didn't even pretend to understand in what different situations she and Elle were in — of course 200 thousand dollars would've changed her life. That's not something you easily say no to.

Extremely adorable and fun to read! After trying and bailing on several Christmas romances this year, I finally found one that was a keeper. Romance can be really hit or miss with me, and I was worried that this one, which combines tropes like crazy, wouldn't fly and I'm super glad I gave it a chance!
