Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. I laughed, cried, got angry on behalf of characters. Such a whirlwind of emotion in an absolutely amazing book. Certainly one I shall be recommending to family, friends, and students!

Cora and Adrien are neurodivergent friends and are inseparable until tragedy.  Now, one must learn what it's like to grieve and find their voice.

Did I cry?  Yes.

Cora is autistic, lives on the β€œbad” side of town and is constantly worried about how to be normal. Adrien has adhd, is the son of some seriously wealthy parents and could care less about others. They quickly become best friends. In the meantime, Cora finds out about Adriens dad’s business - pomegranate, where they specialize in making lifelike holograms. Adrien hates the idea and Cora doesn’t get why, until she does.

While I can’t spill any more of the plot without spoiling the book, I can tell you what I loved. I loved that the main characters were neurodivergent. I loved that they both learned to love themselves for who they are. I loved that the book made mention of the fact that so many geniuses are thought to have been neurodivergent. As a future teacher, I would want to get this book for my room because of the representation.

The things I didn’t like would require spoilers, but overall I felt that the plot line, especially the ending, fell a little short of what I was expecting.
