huxley didnt get enough p/ssy so he had to fill his time believing in quack science and writing books about how sex is bad
but seriously tho, this book was difficult to read cause it was just angry at the wrong things all the time. i also couldn't root for anyone cause literally every character was a bad person in their own way. except for the writer guy, he was kinda cool tbh, he should've been the protagonist.

Audiobook. Needs a note at the beginning to give reference for what was happening in the time of its writing. I’m all in on preserving books from the past and continuing to learn from them, but this is a great example of a book assigned to kids, FILLED with so many racist tropes. From classes of human superiority where the “lower semi moronic gammas” are the only ones described with dark/black features, and are created by adding alcohol to their baby text tube vials, to the elite alphas all having blue eyes, pearly skin and blonde hair. Also the character Linda, falls in love with “The Savage” and can’t be with him. So she repeatedly date-rapes herself into having sex with other guys… it is an interesting read, but I think understanding the cultural and political context when it was written is super important.
