This is by far the lowest possible rating I could ever give this book. My memory of this piece of literature is beyond comprehension; I cannot begin to tell you how devastatingly boring this book was for me. I read this thing back in High School and I have practically retained ZERO information from it from whenever it was first being read. I tried revisiting it just to see if it would spark some kind of thought in me and it gave the exact same feeling that I was greeted with when first being presented with this book: a yearning for something entirely different to read or the undying urge to bash my head against a wall in hopes that this thing would be over soon. I couldn't possibly recommend this book to someone unless it was to be used as a form of torture where you intend to kill your victim with raw, unadulterated boredom. Fahrenheit 451 probably presented a better sense of conflict that this thing, but that's being generous. If you want to read something that tempts you into getting a lobotomy, this is the book for you.

I have to say that this book was really an amazing read. I’m a huge fan of the dystopian genre, so when I found out this book was actually utopian I wanted to see how different the genre is, and more importantly how effective it can be.

I thought this book was incredible, and satirised all “problems” we have in society, as the utopian genre solves those problems, yet let’s the reader question if they are made better or worse. One example is that everyone is made scientifically through test tubes, solving the issue of fertility rates. However, as many people share the same look and surnames, having been created from the same embryo, is the issue of individualism caused by this conclusion?

It is definitely worth the read, and I would strongly suggest that lovers of both utopian and dystopian genres read this book, as it allows you to personally interpret the issues for yourself.
