This is basically just the pilot episode of Avatar: The Last Airbender in graphic novel form.

This is a fun manga/graphic version of the series. I liked some of the little differences so it wasn't exactly like the show.

atla always used to be one of my favourite tv series but this was really disappointing, i just didn't really like how unoriginal and cheap this is. it consists of screenshots from the show and pretty much the exact script, only with many plot holes and typos. i'm only giving this 3 stars because of the nostalgia it gave me. i don't really like this adaption. it took me 5 minutes to read this and i'm sure it didn't them much longer to write it. buuut i'm grateful they pushed me to rewatch atla. like, soon. someone remind me to.

I wanted to watch the show, but we canceled our cable. The book is pretty much exactly the same. Can't wait to read the rest of them :)

My first time reading a comic and I can say with certainty that it was definitely a different experience! But I loved it. It brought back memories of my childhood 💜

it's literally just the first episode of the tv show in book form. i don't know if i like it because i like the show so much. a part of me wants to be upset that it isn't ANY different but at the same time i picked this book up kind of exoecting it to be that way so i don't know. five stars. lol whatever.

I love and adore everything to do with Avatar, but this little book was really just a cut and paste of screenshots from the TV show, and that doesn't exactly work well for a book.

If there had been new art that was created for a book format, it would have looked better and flowed better for a written story. A lot of the time the action wasn't clear, because the panels weren't created to make that action clear on paper.

Other Avatar comics that I've seen (like The Search or The Rift) were actually created to be comics, and those are wonderful and work perfectly and the artwork is fantastic! So I was disappointed to see that this is so poorly organized.

As far as the story goes, of course I adore Aang and Katara and Sokka! The plot is perfection, the characters are marvelous, and the world building is phenomenal! I just wish this little comic did them justice.

I've loved this series for years, and I've just now begun to collect all the comics. This series is fun, it's cute, and it's so well done. The art really matches the story and the way it's told. The actual story-lines are easy to understand, and still they can be deep and impactful.
